How to delete Outlook 365 Search History?
Search History Erased in 3 Steps
You have probably wondered, why you can’t delete the search history of your Microsoft Outlook 365? If you login through Microsoft 365 online, you will see something like this:
Don’t worry, it’s easy. Here is the step by step guide how to get rid of it!
Before we start, you should know that clearing your cookies or browser history won’t help. The reason for this is, the search history is being stored in the exchange server of Microsoft itself. And don’t even look for it in the settings sections – you won’t find anything. Alright, enough of this nonsense, let’s get started!
Step 1: New Search Terms
Enter 5 new search terms you would like to see instead. You can use 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. If you don’t want to arouse suspicion, you might want to enter something like this:
Looks pretty unsuspicious, ey?
Step 2: Exit Search
Alright, now before you do anything else, click “Exit Search” first:
If you don’t exit the search, your new history won’t be saved.
There is an easy explanation for this. Your search history is being saved on the memory buffer first. In order to get this saved on the microsoft exchange server, you have to trigger an action. Once an action has been triggered, your new search history will be sent to the exchange server and et voila – you shall have your new history saved.
Step 3: Be 100% sure it’s gone
And if you want to be 100% sure, click a little bit around such as in your inbox, sent and other places.
Logoff, login and check your history again.
And it’s gone… magic!

Norton Antivirus is one of our review winners in 2024. No other antivirus software offers such impressive virus protection in the market right now. This may change in the future as the market is constantly changing.
In 2024 AVG began offering unlimited install features for their antivirus software. For everyone, but especially families, this is one of the best bargains of the year. The interface couldn't be any easier to use, and the malware protection is solid.
One of the advantages of Avast 2024 is not just it's reliability and broad antivirus protection but also the price. At only $34.68, it's one of the most affordable deals you can find among reputable antivirus tools.
Bullguard may not be as famous as the big market players, but it’s unequivocally one of the best antivirus software in the world. It was developed by hackers and computer enthusiasts from a small UK company. As the price suggests, they are driven by passion, not for as much profit as other bigger competitors.
Panda is not only the cheapest, but is actually one of a kind: They invented the first artificial intelligent virus protection in the world that recognizes unknown viruses. It works so well that they became extremely popular in Europe, and are being praised by hackers.
With over 400 million users, over 20 years of experience, and 270,000 corporate clients, Kaspersky Lab technologies is a strong cybersecurity company. This company offers an array of powerful products such as Kaspersky Total Security, Kaspersky Anti-Virus, Kaspersky Internet Security and more.
McAfee has been around for more than 30 years, making them one of the oldest virus protection companies on the market. Due to restructuring of the company over the last years, the company has successfully created a new product fit to satisfy customers in 2024.
AVIRA Antivirus is one of the most popular virus protection software. They've been famous for years for their free antivirus offering. The paid version is as good as the free version but without ads. For only $0.99, they make switching to the professional version worth it. However, support is not Avira's forte.

I have followed step by step the solution but it does not work for me. I only got to replace all terms by 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 instead. What could I do wrong?
