If you’re writing in two or languages and have to switch the language all the time, Windows has a shortcut for it: SHIFT+ALT.
As stupid as Microsoft is, that shortcut is already being used on Office programs for something else. So, every time you press it, some weird numbers appear in your Word, PowerPoint or whatever Office program.
It’s just dumb. Super dumb.
There is a solution for this dilemma. Just change the shortcut to be something else. Luckily if you go to “advanced settings”, you can change the language bar hot keys:
Great? Not great. Because that feature was only available for Windows 7 and 8. And in Windows 10. It’s nowhere to find.
Anyways. As Windows 10 still has everything the other Windows versions have, you can still access it. Just type this into your console (cmd) – or click the Windows button and go to “Run”. Put this in:
"C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe" Shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL input.dll,,{C07337D3-DB2C-4D0B-9A93-B722A6C106E2}{HOTKEYS}
This will appear:
Now click “Change Key Squence”, and select “Ctrl + Shift”. That will make more sense as it won’t mess up everything.
